The Classic Kit has enough room upstairs for group stories and activities. The high deck gives enough headroom downstairs for the housekeeping area. You’ll love the tool-free assembly and the fact that you can reconfigure the loft in five different ways.
Community Playthings Lofts
The downstairs archway is 124 cm (49") high, and the deck railing is 81 cm (32"); ample space for a reading nook up top, and any manner of stand-up play down below. Our community lofts assemble without tools or carpenters. In fact, we tested the ease of assembly by putting the model 2 starter loft together ourselves. We asked three staff members with little previous experience assembling things to try it. From the time they started opening the boxes to completion... 45 minutes! Posts, connectors and childproof caps are designed to hold each panel securely. Absolutely no tools are required. Each loft can be configured in several ways, and kits are available to expand every loft. So, if your needs evolve or you just want a change, you are not committed to a loft that cannot accommodate growth. Carpets on landings are soft, removable and washable. Each loft will be shipped with neutral-colour connectors unless you specifically request green or red.
For your Safety!
These Lofts are designed for children 3 to 7 years old. They need a minimum ceiling height of 8 feet for safe use and must be installed away from lights, skylights, sprinkler systems, hanging ceiling tiles or any other hazard. The stairs are just the right width for one child at a time, with room to pass on the landings. Simple, tool-free levelling feet ensure the stability of your loft, even on uneven floors. Of course, all lofts must be used under direct adult supervision.

Community Playthings (CP) furniture and toys are purpose built for early years classrooms with predominantly natural materials like maple hardwood. They are designed to realize an open-ended play-to-learn educational goals.
It is not unusual for Community Playthings products to last decades and even generations.
Community Playthings products do not just comply with regulations: they are designed with children’s health and safety as a core principle. Utmost vigilance is maintained to ensure all known or suspected hazards are eliminated from the product line.
Community Playthings’ rigorous design process, including failure mode and effects analysis, reduces the risk of equipment-related accidents and are a natural result of child-centred design.
Rather than awaiting regulation, CP’s product developers closely monitor scientific research, moving early to eliminate potential chemical hazards. While other manufacturers may insist that endocrine disrupters and phthalates are harmless, but CP’s green chemistry policy requires greater responsibility. All Community Playthings furniture products are made from low emitting materials -- safe for your children and staff.
